Josh Porter
Biography:
Josh Porter is an aspiring musician from a working class background in Preston. His musical journey started at 13 were he first started to learn the guitar, inspired by bands such as as Nine inch nails, Nirvana and Elliot smith. He was drawn to these bands as their music tend to have strong and emotional messages behind them inspiring Josh to do the same with his own music.
He later went on to study Psychology, Music production and performance at Cardinal Newman collage were he honed his ability’s as a producer, guitarist, singer and pianist. He found this work a bit intimidation as he had not been surrounded by other artists before however, as the course moved on he grew more confident in his place around other people, helping him grow as an artist.
Josh is now studying at Futureworks university in Manchester to help build his abilities as a producer and a artist so that he can make art that truly touches people and leaves them inspired in the same way the music that inspired him did to him. One way he is doing this is by composing a multitude of different tracks of all different genres to refine his musical and compositional ability.
Services:
- I can compose music to a decent level mainly focusing on industrial, classical, alternative rock, soundscaping and scoring however, I am happy to work on any genre of music. I am happy to take commissions and I’m happy to accommodate any specific musical style you would want me to create.
- I can act as a sound engineer and producer efficiently inside of a studio for recording and mixing sessions due to my familiarity with various microphone placements for many instruments and genres. I can also act as this with live sound such as gig
- I can play the guitar, piano and can sing to a decent degree opening me up to session musician work and live performances, which I have done with the audience of my biggest performance totalling around 200 people.
- I can I’ve guided and informative feedback on your own tracks to better help develop your ideas so that you can improve your music and even help with lyrics and songwriting if you should need it
